1. Information collected

The portal may collect information required to create an account, verify an application and process an RTI request, including name, contact details, address, district, identity or eligibility documents, application content, uploaded annexures and payment references.

2. Purpose of use

• To register, process and track RTI applications and first appeals.
• To route matters to the relevant district authority or officer.
• To verify payments, exemptions and supporting documents.
• To send acknowledgements, status updates, replies, reminders and password-reset codes.
• To maintain security, audit records, backups and administrative reports.

3. Sharing and disclosure

Information may be made available to authorised officers, appellate authorities, administrators, payment service providers and technical service providers only to the extent required to operate the portal, process a payment or comply with law and official directions.

4. Payments

Payment details are processed through the configured payment gateway. The portal does not intentionally store complete card, UPI or other payment-instrument credentials. Payment references and transaction status may be retained for reconciliation and audit.

5. Security and retention

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect accounts, documents and records. Information is retained for as long as required for processing, legal compliance, audit, dispute resolution and official record-keeping.

6. User requests and support

For questions about information submitted through the portal, contact the RTI Help Desk through the Contact Us page. Requests are handled subject to applicable law and official record-retention requirements.

7. Policy changes

This policy may be updated when the portal, applicable law or administrative process changes. The revised version will be published on this page.
